E3 2017 - the Sony presser breakdown.
Sony's wasn't bad, but they frontloaded it with too much first-party awesome. Pacing was off. That said,
let's break it down.
- Uncharted: The Lost Legacy got a trailer that absolutely, 100% sold me on the game. DEFINITELY WORTH WATCHING
- Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds is the previously-hinted DLC, and it's coming this year wooooo! WORTH WATCHING
- Days Gone got another gameplay trailer, and it's still lookin' pretty hype. ZOMBIE BEARS.
- Monster Hunter finally lands on a Sony platform with Monster Hunter World.
- Shadow of the Colossus is getting a full pretty-as-heck remaster for PS4.
- They showed a story trailer for Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite that was kinda' entertaining.
- They showed a Call of Duty: WWII trailer. Meh.
- Skyrim VR is coming to PS VR.
- They showed a bunch of PSVR stuff, but the only interesting-looking thing was The Inpatient, from Supermassive - the crew that made Until Dawn.
- God of War got a pretty sweet trailer, and will launch in early 2018. WORTH WATCHING
- Detroit: Become Human got a trailer that looks very nice and did not interest me in the game one iota.
- Then they showed yet another Destiny 2 trailer that I can't even be bothered to put on the blog for.
- Spider-Man got a gameplay demo, and it looks pretty good! WORTH WATCHING
And that was their presser. Before their presser, they also announced...
- Knack 2 will launch in September, $40.
- Indie megahit Undertale is coming to PS4 and Vita with physical releases.
- Gran Turismo Sport got an E3 trailer.
And that was Sony! I give it a B+. No shocking reveals beyond Monster Hunter, no major new first-party games. The footage of their already-announced stuff (Days Gone, Uncharted, Horizon DLC, God of War, Spider-Man) all look hyyype but I was hoping to be more shocked.
